Please note: Prior to all meetings starting at 2pm, Peter Hewick or other another IOSH  interview panel member will hold a "Mentoring Surgery" for help with IPD/Skills Development Portfolios/Open Book Assessments/Peer Review Interviews or even Fellowship Portfolios and Interviews. He will be available from 1230 - 1345 and see people on a first come first seen basis.

Supplementary information for October Meeting

 

"Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations - the Denios - DSEAR with A Bang Lecture via a power point show, several short video clips and 16 desk top experiments, the lecture clearly demonstrates what can go wrong, when hazardous materials are handled incorrectly.


There will be several loud bangs during the lecture – which are considered "unsuitable" for pregnant ladies. – only because it may wake Junior…


Denios will demonstrate the specific qualities of different mediums; importantly they will concentrate on liquids with high fire hazard risks. Denios will explain the dangers of incorrect storage and transport. Instructions on how to handle such liquids is important. (What is the flashpoint? What can happen if such substances are handled incorrectly."
